
Salma Hayek Pinault born Salma Valgarma Hayek Jimenez; 2 September 1966)[3][4][5] is a Mexican and American actor and film producer. Her professional career began in Mexico which she played in the telenovela Teresa (1989-1991), and the romantic drama El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) that earned her an Ariel Award nomination. From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999), Dogma (1999) and Desperado (1995) were just a few of her many Hollywood credits. Hayek's role as Frida, the painter, in Frida (2002) the film that she also co-produced, resulted in Hayek the first Mexican actress to receive the Academy Award [6]. It also earned her a Golden Globe Award nomination, Screen Actors Guild Award nomination, and British Academy Film Award nominations. Hayek continued to make films and acted in action-oriented films like Once Upon a Time in Mexico in the years following.
