Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is an American-Canadian artist and singer. More than 20 albums have been released by her. DiFranco's music has been classified as folk as well as alternative rock, but it also has influence from hip music and jazz. Ani DiFranco, widely regarded as the feminist's icon and Grammy-winning performer, is regarded as to be the first creator in DIY music. It was one of the very first musicians to establish the label she created in the year 90. DiFranco's parents were Elizabeth (Ross), a former student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Dante Americo DiFranco met each the other when they were students at the same school. Her father had Italian ancestry and her mom was born in Montreal. Ani Difrasco composed and recorded the hit song "32 Flavors". The song was featured on her album Not a Pretty Girl which was released in 1995. The song was featured in the soundtrack to the Canadian romantic comedy Better Than Chocolate, released in 1999. DiFranco apologized for hosting a workshop in Louisiana on an old slave plantation. Many (including us) weren't affected by her decision to cancel. DiFranco offered a second apology a few days later. She is known for her Little Folksinger music, but she's collaborated with many different genres and artists that range from Pete Seeger to Chuck D. She is from New Orleans. Ani DiFranco lives with Kristen Ford. In the span of 14 months, DiFranco was already writing her own songs. She continued to perform them in bars and coffee shops during her teens. DiFranco started attending Buffalo State College when she was just 16 and a half years old. She earned her degree from the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts when she was just 16 years old. The new guitar Ani is a custom Alvarez made after several consultations between her myself as well as Chrys Johnson who was the artist rep for Alvarez when the guitar was made. The System 600 preamp is on it. The guitar is made of mahogany on the top and back that has an ebony fretboard. DiFranco is a resident of New Orleans, with her family, which includes her spouse and two children. Lefty is their dog pet who is with them as she talks. After three decades of her career DiFranco admits she has different feelings when looking into the rearview. Ani DiFranco was a pop/punk singer and songwriter when she was 25, when her debut album Not A Pretty Girl hit the charts. Dilate, released in 1996, achieved even greater popularity among the fans.
