Alison Maria Krauss (born July 23 1971) is an American bluegrass-country singer and musician. Her career in music began as a young girl, having won local competitions at the age of 10 before recording her first album when she was 14 years old. She was asked to join the band with whom she performs Alison Krauss and Union Station and later released her first album in the group in 1989.
